LINKS for
  Cowichan area of Vancouver Island

This area is known as the Cowichan meaning
"warmland". Our location on Cowichan Bay
provides local access to
whale watching and
marine eco-tours, kayaking tours in the bay
and beyond,
seaplane tours,or sightseeing
aboard a 39' catamaran or on the established
sailing charter vessel "Fury IV". Hiking trails for
both novice and experienced. The oldest
grass
tennis courts
in Canada are nearby. The warm
climate is ideal for the many
vineyards.The five
golf courses are open all year round.

In the nearby historic village of Cowichan Bay,
you can experience a working
fishing village.
Float homes straddle the public dock and an array
of restaurants, cafés, and gift shops are located
in some of the original village buildings. The old
shipyard building and the inn, now The Masthead
restaurant are just a few. In the Maritime Centre
watch
vintage boat restoration in process or
visit the
museum on the boardwalk or
watch Herb Rice, our local
Coast Salish carver,
as he goes about his work or hosts carving workshops.
A variety of
artisans in this area host studio tours.

Come to
Vancouver Island, to Cowichan Bay and
to
Pebbled Shores Bed & Breakfast for a change
of pace and a delightful experience.
Travelling beyond the COWICHAN area...      We are pleased to
recommend some of our B&B colleagues in other areas of BC
