This coastal environment is an ideal growing climate. Summers are warm but dry.
The mild spring and fall extend the growing season allowing the gardener plenty of time

for planting, weeding or just enjoying the view.

Pebbled Shores Bed & Breakfast
where the garden meets the beach.

Our garden is a collection of  "on the wild side" and the "carefully cultivated". We have established good garden
"bones" now  with a strong perennial base. The Lavatera, (pink above) has presented a wonderful show of blooms
every year but each year we try new plants and rejoice at the return of those planted the year before.

In spite of the deer who come frequently, there are always a few surprises in the garden and with good luck and work
the garden grows and provides enjoyment. We are always trying to find the right plant for this seaside environment
but the ancient plantings of horsetail (Equisetum arvense) are a constant battle.

The garden weaves its way to the beach where each year we extend the natural sea grasses in part to protect the
seawall but also because they are so beautiful.

Guests are welcome and encouraged to get dirty and to take a snippet or cutting to try at home. If you would like to
come wander through this garden by the sea please contact us by email                      stay@pebbledshores.com
